Linking Up MICHIGAN - Putting Federal Dollars to Work in the Upper Peninsula

Kewadin Casino

2186 Shunk Rd., Sault Ste. Marie, MI 49783

Thursday, July 18th - Friday, July 19t

Sault Ste. Marie is Michigan’s oldest city and rich in history. The Soo, as often referred to by those who live in or near the area call it, is home to the Sault Ste. Marie Tribe of Chippewa Indians, along with the Bay Mills Indian Community.

We have an exciting, full two days planned where you’ll learn how communities in Michigan are seeking to use the historic levels of federal funding flowing into the region, as well as some of the opportunities and challenges communities are encountering in accessing funds from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, Inflation Reduction Act, and CHIPS and Science Act.

Our program includes opportunities to hear from community members and key stakeholders about their views on how they are approaching the current moment and what they believe their communities need, as well as some of the concerns they have about the future. This hands-on event will facilitate direct engagement with representatives from federal, state, and local agencies and government, as well as important private, non-profit, and higher education sector stakeholders.
