Harnessing Federal Investment to Grow the Economy and Win for Communities
The Beehive State is set to see billions in new investment in transportation, energy, and water infrastructure over the next decade, thanks to BIL (Bipartisan Infrastructure Law) and IRA (Inflation Reduction Act). With the right approach, this investment will create tens of thousands of family-sustaining jobs all across the state and transform our economy.

Community Priorities for Federal Investment
In 2022, we surveyed 1,000 Utahns from across the state to identify top priorities for infrastructure investments. Resoundingly, 74% of respondents identified Clean Energy as the most important area of investment, followed by improvement to water infrastructure (67%), and public transportation (58%). When asked how Utahns would improve the lives of working people, 65% of respondents said their top priority was to ensure workers get the prevailing wage for the jobs they perform followed closely by 64% indicating these dollars must create jobs for low-income, rural, and communities of color.
Our Work
Utahns are excited about this billion dollar opportunity. But so many different avenues of investment and a wide-variety of community needs in all corners of the state mean we have to get organized. That’s why we’re focused on community-level action. Building local community organizing capacity will build the power necessary to ensure these funds address the top local priorities—not those dictated by Washington, Salt Lake, or corporate board rooms.
