United Today, Stronger Tomorrow – Iowa is a coalition of labor, indigenous, and faith leaders; elected officials; and community members working together to ensure an equitable recovery from Covid and reestablish trust in the practices of local, state, and federal government.

We are working to identify the most prevalent impacts of Covid-19 on local economies and communities with the goal of building a broad base that can shift power and focus to the most impacted Iowans.

In August and September 2021, our coalition successfully campaigned to push back on the Woodbury County Board of Supervisors misappropriation of Covid recovery funding to cover the inflated cost of a Law Enforcement Facility – a decision made without public input. This campaign produced a meeting with the US Treasury Office of State and Local Fiscal Recovery Programs as well as ongoing organizing where we are actively working with communities to identify recovery funding priorities and to achieve deliverable gains through our ARPA survey.

It’s not too late to share your ideas for how the money should be spent – take the survey!
